    This a good book for basics about weightlifting and a good diet plan to coincide with your workouts.

    The author has his opinion that certain weight training exercises work, and based on my experiences from volumes one and two, they do work. This volume contains a lot of the same exercises as volume 2, just some longer workouts and therefore a bit more intense. The diet suggestions are basic, but very practical.

    My only major negative critique of his work is that I go a few weeks into the training program, feeling it is a bit too easy, then I hit somewhere in the middle and I am barely hanging on. Also, while this is an EXCELLENT book to throw in your gym bag to guide your workouts, there is no discussion of why these exercises work and what they work - that is for a different book.

    I have been using this book for a month and so far I have lost 26 pounds. It is a great book to get you away from the machines and to start using free weights. I am also very excited, because I am starting to see some definition. I highly recommend this book (it is spiral bound, so it is easy to take with you). Good Luck!
